College Basketball: Rough Week Drops Wildcats in Latest Poll
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Villanova dropped a pair of Big East games this past week, and those losses have caused them to tumble in the new AP "Top 25" poll.
The Wildcats fall from number 8 to number 12 this week after falling at Providence (related story) and at the Wachovia Center to Georgetown (related story). Villanova is now 17-4 on the season overall.
Ohio State is the unanimous #1 team in the land, with a 22-0 record. Kansas jumps up from number 6 to number 2, with Texas, Pittsburgh, and Duke rounding out the top five.
Villanova will look to get back on the winning track on Wednesday, when they host Marquette.
