Coach Reid: Eagles, 1-3, Dealing With More Injuries and Looking Within
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid today discussed yesterday's come-from-ahead, 24-23 loss to the 49ers during his weekly day-after-the-game press conference.
After repeatedly blowing fourth-quarter leads, Reid says, it is time for his players to look in the mirror.
"I mentioned this after the game, each guy needs to take a close look at himself and I've got to make sure I'm looking at it even closer, because we are not finishing games like were supposed to finish games," Reid said today.
If you are among those who think that, given these struggles, changes need to be made in the Eagles' coaching staff, Reid says that's not going to happen.
"The coaches are going to stay intact," Reid said. "But we go through and we evaluate everything. We look at, and I look at, everything. But the coaches will stay intact and then we go from there."
And the injuries on the defensive line continue to mount. Defensive tackle Antonio Dixon is likely out for the season with a torn tricep, and defensive end Trent Cole has what Reid calls a "fairly significant" calf injury.
