Cliff Lee Returns As Phillies Look To Avoid Sweep Vs. Mets

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Phillies welcome back Cliff Lee from the disabled list tonight as they look to avoid a sweep at the hands of the New York Mets.
The Phillies have lost the first two games of this series in painful fashion, blowing leads late thanks to some suspect relief pitching, shaky defense and a lack of timely hitting.
Lee (0-1) has been out with an oblique injury. He last pitched on April 18th - that was the game in San Francisco where he got a no decision despite twirling ten shutout innings.
In his career against the Mets, Lee is 2-1 with a 1.61 ERA, but that loss came last month as he allowed four runs in seven innings as the Phillies fell to the Mets 5-2. That's one of four losses the Phils have suffered at the hands of New York in five tries here in 2012.
New York will give the ball to righthander Dillon Gee tonight. He is 2-2 with a 4.50 ERA.
To make room for Lee's return to the roster, RHP Michael Schwimer has been optioned to AAA Lehigh Valley.
