Claude Giroux: 'We're Gonna Tie Up This Series'
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Flyers started the regular season with three straight losses, resulting in the firing of then head coach, Peter Laviolette. Their captain, Claude Giroux, started the season on a 15-game goal less drought, scoring only seven assists in those first 15 games.
After a 1-7 start to the season, Giroux said, "We'll take it here game-by-game and we will make the playoffs."
Well, the Flyers did make the playoffs and in large part was due to the play of the captain, who finished the regular season third in the NHL in scoring, tallying 86 points and 28 goals.
After the first three games of the post-season, the Rangers have held "G" to only two assists and two shots on goal, en route to a 2-1 series lead. Giroux, like he did in the regular season, remained confident after the Flyers game three loss Tuesday night, making yet another guarantee.
"[We'll] be ready for game four, we're gonna tie up this series and go back to New York, and just gotta stay with confidence," Giroux said.
"I think you're at home, I think those games at home you got to win them and tonight we weren't able to get the job done."
