'Chronicle' Scores Big During Super Bowl Weekend At The Box Office

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The weekend's new attractions led the way at the box office, which exceeded expectations for Super Bowl weekend, traditionally slow at multiplexes.
Chronicle, the found-footage thriller about teens with superpowers, took the crown by earning an estimated $22-million in its debut.
The Woman in Black, the new haunted house thriller starring Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe, finished a close second with $21-million.
Third place was claimed by last weekend's leader, The Grey, which totaled just under $10-million.
And Big Miracle, the save-the-whales drama featuring Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski, placed fourth with an opening-weekend take of $8-million.
Overall, industry-wide totals remained well ahead of last year's pace.
