Popular Christmas Wonderland Crosses The Delaware River…Again
CHERRY HILL, N.J. (CBS) - It's been a holiday tradition in the region for more than 50 years, and now Gaudio's Animated Wonderland is in a new South Jersey location after a brief stint in Philadelphia.
There are moving penguins around a waterfall, a mouse family decorating their Christmas tree and Santa and Mrs. Clause inside their North Pole home, just to name a few scenes.
Ralph Gaudio of the former Gaudio's and G Boys garden center stores has joined forces with McNaughton's Garden Center along Kresson Road in Cherry Hill.
Together they turned a large, green house into a Christmas extravaganza.
"When they come it's a nostalgic trip," says Gaudio. "They're saying mothers would come in, when I was a little girl I came with my father, grandmothers. Everyone has a memory and we make Christmas memories, that's what's nice with what we do."
There will be face painting and Gaudio says special guests too:
"Santa will be here and he's been seeing the kids in South Jersey for almost 40 years."
The holiday display was at a Christmas Factory Outlet in South Philadelphia for the past few years after G-Boys In Marlton closed in 2012. But now it's back in South Jersey -- this time in Cherry Hill -- where Gaudio says it will be the biggest one to date.
