Christmas Village Pops Up At Love Park
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Thanksgiving Day marks the opening of the Christmas Village. The village, a replica of a traditional German market, is usually set up on Dilworth Plaza, but this year it's located at Love Park.
There was some controversy last year over the name of the village, but this year, shoppers were out and vendors were thrilled.
Reporter: "So, you are selling?"
Paul:"Sheets!"
Reporter: "How is business?"
Paul: "It's been picking up. Mostly lookers, but they come back and pick up as the month goes along."
For Catherine it feels like home, "I used to live in Europe -- Kitzingen, Germany. And it kind of gave me the illusion that I am there still, with all the different workings from Germany and stuff."
Shawna, 13, says the outdoor shops have, "Everything! Rings, bracelets, candles, clothes, chocolate peanuts!"
The shops are open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. every day until Christmas Eve.
