Christie Willing To Consider Medical Pot Changes
FAIRFIELD, N.J. (AP) — Gov. Chris Christie says he's willing to consider new measures to make sure the right form of medical marijuana is made available to children who could benefit from it.
He spoke about the issue Wednesday at a town hall meeting with the mother of a child who died in December of Dravet Syndrome, a rare and often fatal symptom of epilepsy that has been treated with marijuana.
Christie said that a law change he agreed to last year to allow edible medical marijuana for kids has not led to the right strain being available here.
The Republican governor says one solution could be forcing legal dispensaries to produce the strain in an edible form.
But he reiterated that he is not open to legalizing or decriminalizing marijuana.
