Christie: Stay Off Roads During Nor'easter
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Gov. Chris Christie is urging New Jerseyans to stay off the roads during the brunt of a nor'easter through early Saturday.
He says the storm will create challenging conditions on roadways as it dumps an expected 1-2 inches in southern counties and up to 14 inches in blizzard conditions in northeast counties.
Christie says the state's emergency operation center was activated this morning and that transportation agencies are fully mobilized.
He says 3,000 salt trucks "are ready to roll."
Christie is advising residents to "be smart and be careful, and if you can be off the roads that will be even more helpful."
