Chris Stigall Interviews Victor Fiorillo On Racial Discrimination Allegations In The District Attorney's Office

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A former Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia, MK Feeney, has reportedly filed a discrimination lawsuit against the District Attorney's office and D.A. Seth Williams alleging she is a victim of racial discrimination, according to an interview Thursday morning on 1210 WPHT's Chris Stigall Show.

Chris Stigall interviewed Victor Fiorillo of 'The Philly Post' about an article he wrote on the case and the notion that there are many allegations of racial tension which is allegedly the norm now inside the D.A.'s office now that Philadelphia D.A. Seth Williams is at the helm.

During the interview, Fiorillo told Stigall: "People file discrimination suits all the time and we don't always cover them, but these allegations are very common for what we've been hearing the past two or three years now coming out of the D.A.'s office."

Fiorillo said, "The one thing she says that rings true for me, that I've heard from other employees in the office for years, is that Williams has told the hiring committee for the D.A.'s office that he only wants them to hire people that quote 'look like Philadelphians' meaning black. A quote she has attributed to him and this is exactly in line with things that have been coming out of his office for a couple of years which I think lends some credibility to her suit."

Chris asked if Fiorillo sees this alleged issue as being contained to just this office.

Fiorillo said this kind of gossip doesn't pour out of City Hall or the Mayor's office at all and that he thinks "this is a problem unique to District Attorney, Seth Williams, and you know, he's kind of created a racial stronghold for himself there in the D.A.'s office." Adding, "There are a lot of politicians and powerful people in Philadelphia who don't like him, who are suspicious of his motives, and his activities and behaviors.
