PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philabundance and Children's Hospital are two recipients of the latest grants from Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robbins.
Hundreds of people gathered for golf, cricket and bidding on sports stuff at the Ramblewood Country Club in Mt. Laurel. First thing, they hauled out oversized checks.
Jeff Trower, co-chair of the Dunkin Foundation says, "We will raise a little over $370,000 for charity and the charities it will go back to in this area, last year, we contributed to Philabundance."
They'll do the same this year too, contributing $25,000 to Philabundance. Deputy Director of Fundraising Tina Rothfuss already has plans for the money. It'll go to the Fresh For All program with 12 locations.
"We see anywhere from 250 to 300 families at each of those locations so $25,000 is going to provide 50,000 meals through that program."
Rothfuss says summer means more hunger because there are no school meals to be had.
