Chip Kelly: 'We're Really Excited About Being In Front Of Our Fans'
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- While his players are enjoying their four-day vacation following their dominant Thanksgiving Day win over the Dallas Cowboys, Eagles head coach Chip Kelly is focused on this Sunday's home game against the defending Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks.
"We enjoyed it, let me tell you that," Kelly said Monday of his team's 33-10 win over the Cowboys, on the Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show. "We also know we've got 'em [the Cowboys] coming up here again [on December 14th]. So, we're focused on Seattle, we're excited about the opportunity, and we are really excited about being home in front of our fans."
Listen to Chip Kelly on the 94WIP Morning Show:
The Eagles have won 10 straight games at Lincoln Financial Field, the team's longest home-winning streak since 1991-93. Kelly says his players love feeding off the fans.
"We've got a great home fan base," Kelly said. "It's a very, very tough place to play if you're an opposing team coming in here. Our guys love playing at home. I think they feed off the energy of the crowd and if you play with a lot of energy you get an opportunity to win on Sunday's and I think our guys thrive in that environment."
Kelly acknowledged that this weekend's game is an especially difficult task, not necessarily because the defending champs are in town, but because of how well the Seahawks are currently playing.
"I think it's an especially good test playing this team right now because of how well they're playing," Kelly explained. "Obviously, they're coming off a Super Bowl a year ago---sometimes that can be a long time ago---but their last two games specifically, they've been outstanding. They held---their last two opponents have scored three points in back-to-back games. They're playing really, really well right now, and that was against two quality opponents. They're a really good football team and it's gonna be a big test for us this week."
