Chip Kelly Ranked 26th Among NFL Head Coaches
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Most people believe that there is no "in-between" in Chip Kelly's future. Either his approach to offense and practice will become revolutionary and change the NFL, or it will fail miserably.
Pete Prisco of CBS Sports ranked every NFL head coach, and placed Kelly at #26.
"He is a bright, forward-thinking coach who will either revolutionize things or head back to college in three years," Prisco writes. "Can he adapt what he does to the NFL game? If he does, look out. He coaches without fear."
Kelly is the 9th highest paid head coach in US Sports, according to Forbes magazine.
Prisco did issue a disclaimer, that anyone who has not been a head coach in the NFL previously would be ranked at the bottom. He is ranked first of that group.
Prisco's top coach isn't a surprise, it's Bill Belichick of the New England Patriots, followed by the Giants Tom Coughlin and 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh.
Every NFC East coach is ranked ahead of Kelly, with Redskins coach Mike Shanahan at #7 and the Cowboys' Jason Garrett at #23.
