Chip Kelly On Vikings: 'We Respect All, We Fear None'
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – With all of the hype that has surrounded the Eagles this week, there is the fear that the Eagles could look past this weekend's opponent. With the Cowboys and the Bears on the horizon, and possibly an NFC East title, it would be easy to take the Vikings lightly.
Chip Kelly doesn't plan on looking past anyone.
"I don't think we do anything to avoid [looking past the Vikings]. I think we have the same approach every week no matter who we play. We respect all, but we fear none. That's just a concept that we've always had," Kelly said. "I think on any given Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Thursday, whenever you have to play, there's another opponent out there on the field. Anytime you don't take them for what they are, then you're bound to be on the losing end of it, so..."
So the Eagles are 8-5, having one five straight. The Vikings are 3-9-1, and coming off a stretch of three tight games.
"They're a really good football team. You turn the tape on. Last week's game against the Ravens, the same thing. I don't think of overlooking opponents. I turn the tape on, see how hard they play," Kelly said. "They have outstanding players. A group of receivers that's very difficult to match up with the rookie [Cordarrelle] Patterson in there. You've got a lot of different guys. Two outstanding running backs. A great defensive line. There's a lot of really good football players there, so."
Kelly said they're preparing as if Adrian Peterson, nursing a foot injury sustained in Sunday's loss to the Ravens, will play. Matt Cassel will start at quarterback on Sunday for the Vikings.
