Chip Kelly Named Maxwell Club Coach Of The Year
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – No one was sure how Chip Kelly would do in his first season as an NFL coach. The Eagles 10-6 record and NFC East championship suggest he did a pretty good job. Now, the awards have started to roll in.
Kelly was named the Maxwell Club's professional coach of the year on Thursday, the one year anniversary of the date the coach was hired as Eagles coach.
Kelly brought an Eagles team that went 4-12 in 2012, to a playoff appearance, and the #2 offense (yardage) in the NFL. The season also saw revivals for veterans such as Trent Cole and Brent Celek, as well as career years for LeSean McCoy and DeSean Jackson.
