PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A bunch of kids were showing business men and women who was boss during a lunch time pop-up chess tournament in Center City on Friday.
About 40 kids involved in Philadelphia's After School Activities Partnership or A-S-A-P were among those playing chess in the rotunda of the Shops at Liberty Place in Center City. Some rook-ees while others were kings and queens of the game.
10-year-old Armani Brown has won many awards over the 4 years he has been playing chess.
"10 metals in regular tournaments, I came second in the state and I came first in the eagles tournament."
Some business men and woman gave it a try during their lunch break. 11-year-old Domeel Brown beat an adult, Dave Graham Of Berwyn.
"It makes me feel good...accomplished," Brown explained.
"I tried to intimidate him and it didn't work at all," said Graham.
Many kids say chess helps them improve their focus and patience and even get better grades in school.
