Chestnut Hill's Night Kitchen Bakery on TLC
The show Fabulous Cakes features three local bakeries tomorrow night at 10pm on TLC.
KYW's Lynne Adkins reports Amy Edelman, owner of the Night Kitchen Bakery in Chestnut Hill, says it was a thrill to make a cake that will be seen on national television. The bakeries design was quite the undertaking:
"A five-tiered cake with an earth day theme; the top tier was the shape of the earth and the four tiers under the earth shape were all of earth scenes, like of the ocean and jungle; scenes things like that."
She says it was a challenge fitting the filming crew and the bakers inside the small space they call home, but it was exciting. She says the staff will watch the show together to see how much of the 40-hours of work, actually makes it into the program.
