Chestnut Hill Merchants Prepare For Their 'Harry Potter' Weekend
By Hadas Kuznits
CHESTNUT HILL, Pa. (CBS) -- Chestnut Hill turns into Hogwarts this weekend!
Kate O'Neill, deputy director of the Chestnut Hill Business Association, says "Harry Potter Weekend" appropriately takes place the weekend closest to Halloween, and Germantown Avenue is being transformed into the world described in the Harry Potter books.
"Our restaurants and bars are taking names from Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. We have The Three Broomsticks, we have The Leaky Cauldron, we have Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop, things like that."
This is the second annual Harry Potter Weekend in Chestnut Hill, and O'Neill says they've come a long way.
"Oh my god! So much better than the first! We learned so much the first year, we really did. We learned that we need to put more things on the street, and that Harry Potter fans are the most enthusiastic people in the world. They come out in their costumes! We don't ask them to -- they just come."
