Chestnut Hill Goes All Out For 'Harry Potter' Weekend
CHESTNUT HILL, Pa. (CBS) - Harry Potter takes over Chestnut Hill this weekend!
Chestnut Hill College will be hosting its second annual Quidditch Tournament this weekend, and in honor of this Harry Potter-inspired sport, Mary Kate May -- chair of Chestnut Hill's "Harry Potter Weekend" steering committee -- says the entire community has transformed itself into Hogsmeade Village.
"We have a whole generation of kids who grew up with Harry Potter," May (right) notes. "They were nine, ten years old when the books came out, and they've created Quiddich into an actual sport -- and it's in colleges across the country."
So, she says, the whole weekend will be full of Harry Potter-related events.
"We have 'Defense Against the Dark Arts' classes, where Dumbledor and Harry Potter will teach how to combat the dark forces, and then we have bad villians like Bellatrix Lestrange teach the children how to avoid her. We also have a Quiddich 101 course, and the whole weekend culminates in a costume contest."
