Chester County Bus Driver Accused Of Leaving Child On School Bus All Day

KENNETT SQUARE, Pa. (CBS) -- A bus driver in Chester County is facing Child Endangerment charges after police say he left a child on his bus for about six hours.
Sixty-six-year-old Iver Roselund picked a seven-year-old girl at her home in West Grove around 8 a.m. last Tuesday, but Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan says instead of dropping her off at Mary D. Lang Kindergarten Center, "He drove past the school, went to the school bus company's lot, got off the school bus and left the seven-year-girl on the bus."
The girl was found strapped into her seat on the bus around 3 p.m., after the school called her mother to notify her of her absence.
According to court documents, Rosenlund says was drowsy after taking over the counter cold medicine and medication for ADHD.
In addition to charges, he's been fired for violating a Krapf bus company policy that requires drivers to walk the bus after they park.
Thursday afternoon the bus company released the following statement: 'The Krapf School Bus Company has safely transported the students of Chester County for over 72 years. Through our quality drivers we provide excellent service to the students, the parents and the school districts we serve.
With regards to the Kennett student left on the bus the matter is under investigation and we are working closely with the Kennett Area School District and the local authorities. All Krapf drivers are subjected to rigorous background checks prior to hire, including the driver involved in this incident. The driver involved in this matter has been terminated.'
