Chester County Teen Nabbed After Pizza Store Robbery Eyed For Similar Holdups
RADNOR, Pa. (CBS) - A Chester County teenager is under arrest in Radnor (Delaware County), charged with the armed robbery of a Lancaster Avenue pizza restaurant earlier this week.
Now police want to know if he's the same person who held up a suburban frozen yogurt store last weekend.
Radnor police say it didn't take long to track down the man they believe held up the Domino's Pizza at gunpoint on Wednesday night. Less than 24 hours after the holdup, they arrested 18-year-old Adam Robert David, of North Coventry, after working closely with Upper Providence police, who are investigating Saturday's armed robbery at the Kiwi Yogurt store in Collegeville.
"We had no surveillance video whatsoever from the Domino's store there," says Radnor police sergeant Andy Block. "So our (arrest) was basically based on a composite that we worked on and suspect identification."
There is surveillance video from the Collegeville case.
When David was arrested, Block says, the handgun that was used in the robbery was recovered. But it was a BB gun with a blue steel frame, which he says looks like a real firearm.
David is charged with armed robbery, theft, making terroristic threats and other crimes.
