Cherry Hill Police Nab Alleged Burglars In The Act

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (CBS) – Cherry Hill Police say they caught two suspects in the act trying to break into a home.
Investigators say they received a phone call at about 4:00 p.m. Tuesday from a homeowner on Kent Road. The homeowner told police that two individuals were attempting to break into her home via the rear door.
When police arrived, they spotted the suspects, a man and a woman, on the rear deck of the home. They were taken into custody and taken to the Cherry Hill Police Department headquarters. While in custody, authorities say they confessed to the attempted burglary on Kent Road, as well as three other house burglaries in Cherry Hill.
The suspects have been identified by police as 27-year-old Thomas E. Ambrose 4th, of Cherry Hill, and 27-year-old Ashley N. Stanczyk of Marlton.
Cherry Hill detectives subsequently recovered a large amount of jewelry from Ambrose's residence. The jewelry was stolen earlier this month from a Cherry Hill home located on Maple Avenue.
Ambrose has been charged with four counts of burglary and theft and is being held on $81,000 cash bail. Stanczyk has been charged with three counts of burglary and theft and is being held on $31,000 cash bail.
Both are being held at the Camden County Jail.
