Cherry Hill Man Sentenced For Secretly Filming Naked Child For 3 Years
CHERRY HILL, N.J. (AP) — A southern New Jersey man convicted of secretly filming a young girl while she lived in his home has been sentenced to 25 years in state prison.
Camden County prosecutors say Sylvester Chew committed the crimes between April 2008 and August 2011, when the victim was between 9 and 12 years old.
They say the 67-year-old Cherry Hill man hid cameras in a bathroom and bedroom to take videos and photos of the child while she was nude. They also say Chew tried to convince her to sleep in the nude and pose for photos with him while naked.
Chew was convicted last June on 66 counts, including creating and possessing child pornography, invasion of privacy and child endangerment.
Chew was arrested in August 2011 after another adult contacted authorities. Prosecutors say he had hundreds of sexually explicit images and videos of children.
