Coffee Chain Offering Limited-time Cherry Blossom Frappuccino

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Starbucks is offering a new frappuccino, but only for a few days.

The coffee chain announced Tuesday it is offering a new Cherry Blossom Frappuccino, inspired by the Japanese sakura tradition.

The frappuccino will be available in participating U.S. stores for a limited time beginning Tuesday, March 15, through the first day of spring on Sunday, March 20.

Starbucks says the beverage is a blend of strawberries and cream with white chocolate sauce and matcha drizzle, topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of matcha.

Starbucks stores in Japan have offered a version of the Cherry Blossom Frappuccino since 2010, but this is the first time the beverage is available in the United States.
