UPDATE: Chemical Reaction Devices Thrown Into Germantown Rite Aid
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Two items originally labeled "chemical reaction devices" that were thrown into a Rite Aide in the East Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia Monday night ended up being nothing more than plastic water bottles filled with non-hazardous liquid.
The incident happened at the Rite Aid located on the 5300 block of Chew Avenue.
According to authorities, the devices did burst, but nobody was injured. There was no significant damage to the store either.
Police said Monday night that it was important to note the devices were not any type of bomb, however, the bomb squad was called to scene along with Hazmat crews.
Authorities are reviewing surveillance tape, but they have no suspects at this time.
