There was a time when people were rushing to the surgeon to look younger but many plastic surgeons say they are starting to feel the pinch as people try to selectively spend their dollars. Nevertheless, many are still turning to plastic and reconstructive surgery.
As an informed consumer, there are important questions you need to ask. One of the things you want to do is ask about board certification.
For instance, if you want a plastic surgeon, you should ask if they're board certified through the Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
What many people don't know is all doctors are licensed as physicians and surgeons. Some take short courses in liposuction and other types of procedures and they gain privileges.
Also, don't take anything for granted. Even if it's something as simple as a botox injection, you want someone with experience.
