Video: Charlie Manuel Inducted Into Phillies Wall Of Fame

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Former Phillies manager Charlie Manuel became the latest inductee into the Phillies Wall Of Fame Saturday.

In a special pregame ceremony Saturday evening, Manuel was joined by his family, current and past Phillies players as well as other Wall Of Fame members to receive his special honor.

The most successful manager in team history, Manuel admitted afterward the love from the fans has been overwhelming:

"Believe me, I hope you don't think I'm bragging, I can't believe all the people that hugged me. It's unreal. I stopped sometimes and I see women, men, young boys, young women, kids – it kind of sets me back."

Former Phillie Jim Thome unveiled the Wall Of Fame plaque in the outfield and another former Phillie, Roy Halladay, returned to present Manuel with a smaller version of the plaque.

Manuel spent nine seasons (2005-13) at the helm of the Phillies and went 780-636. The Phillies won five consecutive National League East Division titles under Manuel from 2007-11, two NL pennants and a World Series championship. Last August, he became the 59th manager in major league history to notch 1,000 wins.

Manuel was recently named the team's senior advisor to the general manager.
