Charges Filed Against Suspect #2 In Murder of Philadelphia Cop Moses Walker

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The second suspect in the murder of Philadelphia police officer Moses Walker Jr. is being charged.
Chancier McFarland, 19, surrendered to the FBI in Alabama on Sunday (see related story), a day before Officer Walker's funeral took place in North Philadelphia (see related story).
McFarland was returned to Philadelphia quickly, and police commissioner Charles Ramsey got word of the charges late this morning.
"Well, I'm pleased charges were approved," Ramsey told reporters. "I'm told it's murder, robbery, conspiracy, and violations of the Uniform Firearms Act. Hopefully now, once this goes to trial, the individual is convicted and is put away for a very long period of time, in my opinion, the rest of his life."
Commissioner Ramsey says homicide investigators are currently sorting through the tips they got in the case to see which can be paid now from the enormous reward fund (see related story), and which have to await a conviction.
