Celek, Barwin Say Story Will Be Different If Eagles See Packers In Playoffs
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- If the now 7-3 Philadelphia Eagles and 7-3 Green Bay Packers see each other again this season, it will be cold, the date will be 2015, and the game will be in "do-or-die" fashion.
Green Bay got revenge for the Eagles 2013 win at Lambeau Field with a 53-20 stopping of Philly on Sunday. However, Eagles' TE Brent Celek and LB Connor Barwin, are confident if these two NFC teams do face off in the 2015 playoffs, the narrative will be much different.
"I mean I think it was on us," Celek told Michael Barkann and Ike Reese Monday on the 94WIP Mike & Ike Show, of the Eagles' embarrassing loss to the Packers. "There's a lot of things that we didn't do, execution wise, that we could have done. We messed some things up, a lot of things that we could fix. And if we see those guys again, I could tell you, it's going to be a different story."
Brent Celek on the 94WIP Mike & Ike Show:
"Yeah, it's gonna be a lot different [if we played the Packers again]," Barwin told Barkann and Reese Monday on the 94WIP Mike & Ike Show. "I think we're going to learn a lot from that game [on Sunday], and like you said, we might see them again later on this year. And I think there's going to be a lot of mistakes that we made that we could get corrected, and I think we'll be a lot better playing that team---whether it's back in Green Bay or in Philly---when we play them again."
Connor Barwin on the 94WIP Mike & Ike Show:
Celek reinforced his opinion on a potential rematch with the Pack.
"They didn't do anything really tough much differently," Celek said. "I don't think it was anything that we hadn't seen on film. I think if we played them again it would be a different story. We'll play a little bit better than that."
Chip Kelly, who is now 17-9 in NFL regular season, is only 2-7 against upper-echelon opponents.
"I think we're a great football team," Celek continued. "We've got to correct some things, and we've got a lot of season left to prove that."
