CBS3/CW Philly And KYW Newsradio 1060 Celebrate Black History Month By Showcasing "Philadelphia Gamechangers"
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) –– CBS 3, The CW Philly and KYW Newsradio 1060 will highlight 10 individuals who have "changed the game" for the African-American community in the Greater Philadelphia area in celebration of Black History Month. The stations will air a vignette hosted by television Anchor Ukee Washington and radio Community Affairs Reporter Cherri Gregg all month, focusing on honorees who are contributing to Black History. All three stations will also feature a series of reports on each of the Gamechangers throughout February.
Gamechangers are individuals or organizations that have used their volunteer efforts and community influence to make a significant, positive change for people of color in the last year.
This year the stations will showcase: Loretta Winters, President of the NAACP of South Jersey; Jerome Shabazz, Executive Director of the Overbrook Arts and Environmental Education Center; J. Donald Dumpson, Composer, Musician and Producer; Alexa Grabelle, 7th Grader and founder, Bag of Books; Maria Pajil Battle, President of AmeriHealth Caritas Partnership; Nikki Johnson-Huston, Lawyer Poverty Advocate; Donna Frisby-Greenwood, Program Director, the Knight Foundation; Linda Cliatt-Wayman, Principal, Strawberry Mansion High School; Archie Leacock, Founder and Executive Director of IDAAY, and the Wolves Athletic Association.
