CBS 3/CW Philly Receive 48 Nominations In 2011 Mid-Atlantic Emmys Competition
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – CBS 3 and The CW Philly have once again received the highest number of Emmy nominations from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) – more than any other broadcast or cable channel in the region. The Emmy Awards recognize excellence in news, sports, programming, public service and individual achievement in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. The award ceremony will be held at the Philadelphia Loews Hotel on Saturday, September 24.

CBS 3/CW Philly's Eyewitness News was nominated for outstanding journalism in various categories including News Excellence, Evening Newscast, Morning Newscast, General Assignment Reporting, Continuing Coverage, Crime News, Feature News, Sports, Human Interest, Politics/Government, Investigative Report, Business/Consumer News and Environment/Science Reporting among other categories. CBS 3 also received a nomination for overall Station Excellence.
On-air staff nominations included Anchors Susan Barnett, Chris May, Pat Ciarrocchi, Ukee Washington, Dave Huddleston, Anne-Marie Green and Natasha Brown; Investigative Reporter Jim Osman, Consumer Reporter Jim Donovan, Medical Reporter Stephanie Stahl, Reporters Dray Clark, Walt Hunter and Robin Rieger, and Meteorologists Kathy Orr and Carol Erickson.
The stations' public service efforts were recognized as well with nominations for programming on behalf of Alex's Lemonade Stand, the Susan G. Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure and weekly Brotherly Love segments which recognize those doing good in the community.
