CBS 3 Hosts Annual A Stand For Hope Phone Bank
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – CBS 3 and the CW Philly once again hosts a day of fundraising for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. The day-long phone bank runs from 6 a.m. – 8 p.m. with special segments running throughout the day.
Alex Scott: A Stand for Hope Phone Bank features several families who are battling childhood cancer.
CBS News Correspondent Tracy Smith will co-host the 3 p.m. hour of the phone bank. Actors Bailee Madison, Astro and Food Network star Marc Summers are all scheduled to make appearances, along with Eagles great Ron Jaworski and the Philadelphia Soul team.
Alex's parents Liz and Jay Scott lead the 14-hour event with CBS 3's own Chris May, Jessica Dean, Beasley Reece, Ukee Washington, Erika von Tiehl, Pat Ciarrocchi and Stephanie Stahl.

Kathy Orr will host a lemonade stand in Ocean City, New Jersey at Rita's Water Ice on The Boardwalk as part of her "Orr at the Shore" series. Kate Bilo is set to report live from lemonade stands throughout the region.
CBS 3 is also presenting special "Alex Hours" by pre-empting regularly-scheduled programming from 9 to 10 a.m., 3 to 4 p.m., and 7 to 8 p.m. The 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. hours will also be shown on The CW Philly. The 9 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. hours will be streamed live right here on CBSPhilly.com.
"We know the funds raised on Thursday will have an impact in bringing the latest lifesaving treatments to seriously ill children," says Jon Hitchcock, President and General Manager of CBS 3 who also serves on the board of the Foundation. "That is why our stations are so committed to the Scott family's mission. It will make a difference for many families."
Over its seven years on-air, the event has raised more than $7 million for the cause.
