CBS 3 And CW Philly Receive More Emmy Nominations Than Any Station In Region
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -– CBS 3 and The CW Philly have once again garnered the lion's share of Emmy nominations from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) – more than any other broadcast or cable channel in the region -- taking home 38 nods. The Emmy Awards recognize excellence in news, sports, programming, public service and individual achievement in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. The award ceremony will be held at the Philadelphia Hilton Hotel located on City Avenue on Saturday, September 22.

CBS 3/CW Philly's Eyewitness News was nominated for outstanding journalism in various categories including News Excellence, Evening Newscast, Morning Newscast, Team Coverage, Spot News, Continuing Coverage, Investigative Report, Business/Consumer News, Feature News, Health News, Education/Schools, Human Interest, Sports and Special Event Coverage among other categories. CBS 3 also received a nomination for overall Station Excellence.
On-air staff nominations included Anchors Susan Barnett, Chris May, Pat Ciarrocchi and Natasha Brown; Consumer Reporter Jim Donovan, Medical Reporter Stephanie Stahl, Reporters Jericka Duncan, Walt Hunter, Elizabeth Hur, Oren Liebermann, Robin Rieger and Ben Simmoneau, and Meteorologists Kathy Orr and Carol Erickson and Sports Director Beasley Reece.
The stations' On Your Side brand campaign earned a nod in the Promotion category and Community Service efforts were recognized as well with nominations for programming on behalf of Alex's Lemonade Stand and for the Star Spangled Summer campaign which encourages families, neighborhoods and businesses throughout our region to proudly display the American Flag. Remembering 9/11: Ten Years Later also picked up a nomination in the Historic/Cultural Program/Special category.
