CBS 3 Anchor To Be Recognized For Community Service And Dedication To Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Every year, Philadelphia RowHome Magazine honors several local individuals for their dedication to the community, and this November, one of CBS 3's on-air personalities is being recognized.
News anchor Pat Ciarrocchi, who has been with CBS 3 since 1982, was chosen by the magazine for a "Blue Sapphire Award" based on her commitment to delivering the news and for her extensive charity work to better the lives of women and children through events like Pat's Passion for Fashion Show and Auction and the Pat Ciarrocchi Golf Classic.
In an interview in the magazine's October/November/December 2012 issue, Pat shared anecdotes about growing up in Chester County, as well as some words of advice she's picked up during her years as a journalist.
"The best advice from my cousin, Jean, who is a women's trailblazer in business," Ciarrocchi says, "was 'The harder you work, the luckier you'll get.' That's a paraphrase of a Thomas Jefferson quotation – but 'right on' in the advice category."
And with many years of hard work under her belt, including special reports from Israel and Great Britain as well as from the funeral of Pope John Paul II, it's no wonder that Philadelphia's longest tenured female anchor can now add another award to a list that already includes multiple Emmys and a place in the Philadelphia Broadcast Pioneer Hall of Fame.
"On the road to success," Ciarrocchi says, "Don't get distracted by the potholes. Climbing out can give you an unexpected new vision of the journey."
