Caught On Tape: Violent Bank Robbery Attempt In Abington
ABINGTON, Pa. (CBS) -- Police have released dramatic video of a violent bank robbery attempt in Montgomery County.
The incident played out about 6:45 a.m. on March 23rd at the TD Bank branch located in the 2900 block of Moreland Road in Abington.
The video shows one employee, who had just arrived for work, opening the front door for a second employee.
As the second employee was entering the front door, a man, dressed all in black, wearing a mask and carrying a handgun rushed up and attempted to enter.
The employees managed to get the door closed and locked, but the gunman fired a shot, shattering the glass front door.

The suspect then stepped through the broken glass door and grabbed one employee, dragging him back into the bank.
The other employee was able to run into the back of the bank and escaped out a rear door.
The suspect fired a second shot inside the bank and dragged the other employee into the rear area of the bank. After threatening the employee, the suspect escaped out the rear of the bank without getting any money.
Both employees were not seriously injured and there were no customers in the bank at the time.
The suspect is described as a black male, dressed all in black with a black, zip front, and a hooded sweatshirt, with the hood up. He had on a black mask, which covered most of his face and was armed with a black-colored handgun.
He fled the area in a mid-size, black, SUV with chrome wheels. The first three digits of the Pennsylvania registration may be "ERC." The vehicle was occupied by a second person and may have been parked on Carnation, Oklahoma, or possibly in the entrance to the Twin Brooks Townhouses just before the robbery.
