Caught On Tape: Thief Uses Stolen Card To Buy Diapers

GLOUCESTER Twp., N.J. (CBS) -- Caught on surveillance tape – a suspect using a stolen credit card to buy diapers at Walmart.

Police in Gloucester Township now need the public's help identifying him.

The surveillance video shows what looks like a couple out with their two children, including a baby in a car seat. They were at Walmart in Deptford to pick up a few necessities like diapers. The video then shows a man using a credit card to make the purchase before the family is seen on video leaving in a silver SUV.

According to police, the credit card used in the outing was reported stolen from a man. The victim told police it was stolen last Monday at the Gloucester Township Public Library.

Police say the card was used at the Walmart as well as Dick's Sporting Goods across the street.

The suspect is seen on tape, dressed in a unique "Loose Moose" T-shirt. Police are hoping someone at home recognizes him.

Pheon McBride of Gloucester Township said, "I mean the economy is bad and it's unfortunate he'd go through that measure to do something like this instead of reaching out to his family? But maybe he didn't have anybody but that was a bad choice to make, really. For sure."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Gloucester Township Police.
