Caught On Camera: Store Employee Fights Back Against Would-Be Robber In Tacony
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who they say tried to rob a Tacony store.
It happened on Dec. 22 shortly before 3 p.m. at Tacony Food Mart on the 6600 block of Torresdale Avenue.
Captured on surveillance video, an employee was inside working when police say a man entered the store pointing a handgun at him demanding money.
At first, the employee cooperated with the suspect, but then he started to fight back. Police say a struggle ensued and the suspect fled the store without any money. He was last seen traveling west on Unruh Avenue toward Marsden Street.
Police described the suspect as a Hispanic male, 25-to-30 years-of-age, 5'6", 130 pounds, thin build, short hair, mustache, goatee, wearing blue jeans, white-hooded sweatshirt with a blue hooded sweatshirt underneath, and armed with a handgun.
