Castille Replaced As Supreme Court Justice Overseeing Philadelphia Reforms

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Former Philadelphia District Attorney Ronald Castille has been replaced as the state Supreme Court justice overseeing reforms of Philadelphia's Courts.
Just a day after word that state Supreme Court Chief Justice Castille planned to run for retention in the fall, word came this past week that the other justices on the court had replaced Castille as liason to Philadelphia's courts. Justice Michael Eakin, the former District Attorney of Cumberland County west of Harrisburg, will be the new high court jurist in that role.
The announcement from the court system about the change made no mention of a report showing rampant ticket fixing in Philadelphia's Traffic Court – the public release of which had reportedly angered Castille's fellow justices.
The release only praised Castille and indicated the new liaison justice will work closely with Castille to continue reforms he began in Philadelphia.
