Carson Wentz Named NFC Offensive Player Of Week 3
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Carson Wentz is off to the best start by a rookie quarterback in NFL history.
He's 3-0, his jersey is flying off the shelves, he's being mentioned by the President and Vice President, and now he was named NFC Offensive Player Of The Week for Week 3 after his 23-31, 301 yard, two touchdown, no turnover performance in a 34-3 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Wentz is the first rookie quarterback in Eagles history to win an offensive player of the week award, according to the NFL's Director of Football Communications Randall Liu.
Wentz is now 66-102, with 769 passing yards, five touchdowns, and still zero turnovers through the first three games of his NFL career. He is the first player in NFL history with 100+ attempts, 60+ completions, 5+ TDs, and 0 INTs in his first three career games.
