Carol Erickson Returns For 26th Annual Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Breast cancer survivor and former meteorologist at CBS 3, Carol Erickson, is back this Mother's Day for the 26th annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Carol says, "It's so great to see everyone here. All of the people at home who watch this broadcast for so many years now, who know the importance of finding a cure… We're all out here once again!"
"I'm thrilled to be here. There is no greater cause than this one," she adds.

"Everyone has a story here. There is just such camaraderie. I don't think you find that anywhere else."
Carol stresses that when it comes to breast cancer, early detection is key.
"When people see this, a lot of people at home may say "I don't even want to know" if they hear a story about going through chemo and radiation, but early detection is the key. The goal is to not think every day I had breast cancer. I was diagnosed in 2003 and I do not think every day 'I had breast cancer.' I was able to go back to my life. That what we want for every woman and man who ends up getting this, that they can resume the life they want, that they get a better life on the other end of this."
She concludes, "You will find strength in yourself you didn't even know you had."
