Car Carrier Fire Causes Traffic Issues On I-95
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A fully-loaded car carrier that was transporting new cars caught fire Thursday morning, which led to major traffic delays on I-95 in Philadelphia.
The fire happened on I-95 northbound approaching the Philadelphia Airport right around Route 420. The Route 420 ramp getting on to I-95 was blocked.
The fire is under control, but the backup from earlier in the morning, plus the usual morning rush, caused traffic problems in the area. There was also a gaper delay in the southbound lanes.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
