Candidate Rand Paul Brings His Less-Goverment Message to Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul was in Philadelphia today for an appearance at the National Constitution Center, and then a rally on Independence Mall.
US Sen. Paul (R-Ky.) spoke to a crowd of loyal supporters on the mall (top photo), many waving identical signs reading "Defeat the Washington Machine" or "Unleash the American Dream."
Paul says he supports constitutional liberties and is opposed to the Patriot Act, but is opposed to an increase in the minimum wage.
"I really think that people just trying to enter the workforce. When you're trying to get your skills, if you make the wage too high, what happens is young people won't get jobs," he said. "In fact what we've found is, if you raise the minimum wage, that young African-American males actually suffer the worst."
However, the Center for Economic Policy Research found that states which raised the minimum wage had faster employment growth than states that did not.
