Camden's Aquarium Brings Traveling Shark Show To Philadelphia

CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) -- In an effort to promote its extensive shark exhibit, Camden's Adventure Aquarium is branching out -- into Philadelphia.
"We're going to be at the Shops at Liberty Place next Thursday," says the aquarium's science education manager, Jack Carr. "The Friday after that we'll be at the (Independence) Visitors' Center."
Carr says they're trying to educate the public about sharks.
(Kuznits:) "Do you have any sharks at the aquarium that eat people?"
(Carr:) "We do not have any sharks at the aquarium that eat people! And that's not the first time I've had that question."

And he's traveling with a real, live shark -- but not exactly a Great White. His road shark is less than a foot long.
"You know, most sharks are small," Carr notes. "Most sharks in the world are less than three feet long."
Carr says there are 13 species of sharks at Camden's Adventure Aquarium. And he says sharks are nothing to be afraid of.
"We're showing people how the world's a better place with sharks than without them."
He says sharks play a vital role in the environment.
"They're going after animals that are injured so that the whole population's healthier."
