Camden Goes Glam As Location For Hot New Music Video

CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) -- Camden, New Jersey should get a much-needed boost from a new music video by the popular British Isles folk-rock band, "Mumford and Sons." The city, normally in the news for crime and poverty, takes a star turn as the video's setting.
Camden gets its close-up in the video for "Whispers in the Dark," the new single off the band's Grammy-winning album, "Babel." We see band members at the Aquarium, on the battleship New Jersey, riding a motorcycle down Cooper Street and Delaware Avenue, all of it looking very photogenic.
"We were really excited to see they decided to shoot the video here in the city," Coopers Ferry CEO Anthony Perno.
Perno loves the way it came out, though neither he nor city officials had anything to do with it. After a prime-time network feature, last week, focused on Camden's poverty and crime, Perno says the video sends a very different message.
"I'm hoping viewers will take a look at it and say there's something interesting about Camden City," he says, "and maybe it's a place I would like to go to."
The video culminates with the band taking the stage for February's sold out show at the Susquehanna Bank Center.
