Camden County Unveils Free Electric Vehicle Recharging Stations

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (CBS) -- If you drive an electric car, you've got several more places in Camden County to get a free recharge.
Camden County has installed seven new electric vehicle charging stations: at the boathouse on the Cooper River, and at county college and library locations.
Standing near one of the stations at the County College location in Cherry Hill, county sustainability director Chris Waldron said they're free for anyone to plug into.
"These vehicles are only going to become more popular. The costs are coming down. They're manufactured in America. There's a huge cost savings component to it as well. So we see a lot of great reasons why people are investing in them. And we want to meet that need," he said.
The county paid half of the $60,000 cost. The rest was covered by a federal grant.
