Camden County Creates Grab-and-Go Library Kits For Parents With Kids
By Lynne Adkins
CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) -- Camden County public libraries are have come up with a way to entertain preschoolers while making library time quicker and easier for their parents.
Busy parents can run into a Camden County public library and grab a "kid kit" -- a bright red satchel stuffed with four books, a craft idea, and songs designed to educate the active preschooler and keep him entertained.
Senior librarian Ann Marie Latini says there are ten kits at each branch, and each one has a theme.
"Some ideas at this time would be fall, apple picking, going to school, riding a bus, or potty training," she tells KYW Newsradio. "And they're going to be changing quarterly, so we might have snowflakes in the winter and swimming in the summer."
She says the kits are new this month and already getting rave reviews.
