Camden County Authorities Investigating Several Unrelated, Overnight Shootings
CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) - Authorities in Camden County are investigating a four separate shootings that injured three people overnight.
The first shooting happened at about 7:30 p.m. and involved a 24-year-old man from Pennsauken. He was suffered a gunshot wound to his leg and was taken to Cooper University Hospital.
At 8:30 p.m., police say another shooting occurred in the 1600 block of Louis Street in Camden. The 32-year-old victim was also taken to Cooper University Hospital in unknown condition. Police say the shooting appears to have stemmed from a domestic incident.
In a third shooting, a little before 10 p.m., authorities say a 21-year-old man from Camden was shot multiple times near 7th and Vine streets. He was taken to Cooper University Hospital where he was treated and released on Thursday.
At about 2:40 a.m., police say a fourth shooting occurred, involving a 20-year-old Camden man. The victim was shot on the 2000 block of Berwick Street in Camden as he was exiting his car, according to authorities. He suffered from multiple gunshot wounds but managed to wander to a nearby Exxon Gas Station on the 1800 block of Admiral Wilson Boulevard. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital in unknown condition.
Police say these shootings took place during the same night two people were murdered and another injured in two other unrelated incidents. All tolled, there were two men killed and five men injured by gunfire between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 2:05 a.m. Thursday.
