Busy Weekend For Homicide Detectives In Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Authorities are investigating an early morning double shooting in west Philadelphia that killed one man, one of several homicides over the weekend.
Police say a 28-year-old man taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with gunshot wounds was pronounced dead just before 4 a.m. Sunday. Another 25-year-old man was listed in critical condition.
In north Philadelphia shortly before 11:30 p.m. Saturday, police investigating a car fire found an unidentified woman's body in the passenger seat and two bullet holes in the passenger door.
At about the same time in west Philadelphia, 24-year-old James Beaty was found with multiple gunshot wounds on the steps of his residence and pronounced dead minutes later at the hospital.
On Friday night, two men were killed in separate cases in north Philadelphia.
