Business Resource Center Opens To Provide Info To Local Businesses On Papal Visit Impact

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – According to the City of Philadelphia Government, the Department of Commerce has activated a Business Resource Center to provide information to businesses on how the upcoming World Meeting of Families and Papal visit will impact their operations and their employees.

Officials say the center opened today at 1:00 p.m. and from now on it will take calls Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"The World Meeting of Families and Papal visit will have hugely positive impact on Philadelphia's economy and has the unique potential to elevate our city's global profile for years to come," said Alan Greenberger, Deputy Mayor for Economic Development.

"We know that due to the volume of people expected and security arrangements that will be in place, business owners will need to make adjustments and the Department of Commerce is standing by to provide any assistance necessary."

Officials say a team from the Office of Business Services will be on hand to answer questions and provide information as quickly as possible.

Businesses can also send questions to business@phila.gov
