Buses Becoming A Growing Travel Trend

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Planes, trains, automobiles...and now buses as well.
As train passengers poured into 30th Street Station (see related story), a steady stream of soggy travelers lined up in the rain Wednesday morning to board buses a block away on Market Street to get home for the holidays.
"It's just convenient and it's pretty cheap so that's nice," this traveler explained.
"It's cheaper and sometimes its more available than Amtrak," says this traveler.

Liz Brown, a student at East Carolina University, found just how available a bus can be when her Thanksgiving travel plan blew up:
"I took a plane into Philly and I was supposed to fly into State College, but my flight got cancelled," she says. "I was crying in the airport. It was not very fun."
AAA's Jana Tidwell says that along with trains, buses have become more appealing:
"We're seeing an increase in those who travel by train and by bus. The past three years have seen an increase in those modes of transportation. A little bit more reliable."
AAA predicts nearly half a million people in our area will travel 50 miles or more to their Thanksgiving destinations.
